Kiwanis Annual Fund Drive

May is the month for the Kiwanis Annual Fund Drive for local charities.  Kiwanis asks each resident to write a check to one of four Issaquah nonprofits. At the end of the month, Kiwanis turns over the bundles of checks to representatives of the charities. This provides support for the local charities, and it also raises the profile of Providence Point as a good community citizen.

The four nonprofits being supported this year are:

The nonprofits record names and addresses from the checks, so that the donations become tax deductible. For residents who intend to make a donation to a local nonprofit, the Fund Drive is a good way to do it. It’s easy, and it raises the profile of Providence Point in the Issaquah community.

Of course, residents may choose to donate to more than one of the charities on the list. Residents may also donate cash or make their checks out to the Providence Point Kiwanis Club. These donations go into the Kiwanis Service Fund, which is redistributed in relatively small amounts to a number of local charities and deserving community projects.

The final results of the 2017 Annual Fund Drive were presented to the Providence Point Kiwanis Board of Directors at their July 7 meeting.   Through the generosity of Providence Point residents a grand total of more than $28,000 was generated by the Fund Drive this year. The past six fund drives have generated over $160,000 for local charities.  This exceptional effort puts Providence Point on the map as a solid community citizen in Issaquah and the Eastside.

The distribution of this year's donations are as follows:

Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank

$5,815

Eastside Baby Corner

$3,865

Providence Marianwood Foundation

$7,255

Issaquah Compassion House

$2,805

Kiwanis Club of Providence Point
