The Kiwanis Club of Providence Point is the chartering organization of Cub Scout Pack 225.  We participate in Pack financial support, leadership meetings, and Pack activities.  There is a strong bond between the Pack and the Kiwanis Club of Providence Point because of the work of club members Craig Doty and Ferrin Lauve.

On February 8, Cub Pack 225 held their annual Blue & Gold Banquet.  The banquet is held in February to celebrate Scouting Anniversary Week.  It is also a way for the cubs to honor those who have supported their pack.  Special recognition is given to those cubs who will be moving up to a Boy Scout troop.

Pack 225, recently completed a tour of Meadowbrook Farm in North Bend.  The trip was led by Kiwanis member, Dave Olson.  The trip included a visit to the Interpretive Center where the cubs were given a review of the history of the 460 acre property.  Dave then led the group on a two mile hike which gave the cubs an opportunity to see a small growth stand of Western Red Cedar which escaped early day logging.  This includes a tree 9 feet in diameter and 27 feet in circumference, and estimated at 600 – 700 years old.  Another two mile hike took the boys to a recently completed Eagle Scout project which is an elk lookout which provides a spot for visitors to view the many elk which visit the area.

Cubs have fun at their Pack meetings!!
