The photos above show Vi Gardner of the Kiwanis Club of Providence Point presenting Kiwanis Dolls to Swedish Hospital located in Issaquah. Under the leadership of Vi, 12 members and other Providence Point residents created 52 of these dolls. When a child is scheduled for a medical procedure, the doll will be used to explain the process to the youngster.
In the meantime, these dolls will also be used for the upcoming PNWCLA (Pacific Northwest Child Life Association) Teddy Bear Clinic at the Children's Museum in Tacoma later this month. The association's teddy bear clinic promotes child life services in the community, and the dolls will supplement those efforts.
Pinky Herrera, Supervisor Eastside Volunteer Services Program, Swedish Hospital, expressed her gratitude to to our Kiwanis Club for this donation.
